Answers:

 

1 )  Anita West was a presenter on Blue Peter in 1962, she later starred in Crossroads as Dr Hilary Maddox.

2 )  Johnny Briggs who played Clifford Layton in Crossroads and Mike Baldwin in Coronation Street. Producers at the Manchester soap rang up ATV and asked if Johnny was any good. Crossroads producer Jack Barton said he was a great actor, and the rest is history. He played Mike Baldwin for over 30 years.

3 )  1972.

4 )  Hilda Braid. She played Winnie Plumbtree in Crossroads, a hopeless receptionist who's claim to fame is blowing up the motel dishwasher in 1977.

5 )  Two. Anthony and Simon. They both appeared in the series, Simon in the 1960s, and Anthony in the 1970s. They were never both seen together.

6 )  It was a Bed and Breakfast run in the Georgian house which belonged to Charles Richardson's aunt.

7 )  1969. Sandy Richardson discovers witchcraft rituals taking place in the Kings Oak graveyard.

8 )  Composer Simon May. He created numerous songs for Crossroads, including The Summer Of My Life, Benny's Theme and More Than In Love. He went on to write the theme music to BBC soap EastEnders.
