Patsy and `John's Girls' didn't have their picnic on Saturday it was raining too much.  They didn't let off the balloons either in case they disturbed the local farm animals nearby.  They weren't ordinary balloons you see, they were Chinese lanterns, the type that make a noise.

Patsy happened to mention to somebody exactly what they were going to do a few days before, and was told about the possibility of upsetting the animals.  And being the caring lady she is, she didn't want to take the chance.

Patsy said the rain was that heavy, she and her friends were getting wet yet they had umbrellas, so only stayed at the cemetery a few minutes.  They've had heavy rain all week.

But the main thing was that John was remembered on Saturday by Patsy and her friends.  He wouldn't have wanted them to have got too soaked.

I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.
