Earliest memories seem to involve Amy Turtle. The earliest story that I remember is when Sandra Gould was temporarily paralysed after an accident and her eventually walking again.Going by the DVDs,I think that this story must have been from early 1971.Anyone else remember this?

Oorshughie, Sandra Gould was played by Diane Keen.  She appears in one episode in Archive Volume 1.  Around 1971.

I cannot remember full scene from memory, but I know she is taking tea with Meg in the sitting room.

I remember she 'replaced' Diane when she left to have the baby.

My earliest memory is around 1970 ish when my mum was running around the kitchen as I got back from school (I was about 10). She just slapped down a few fish fingers and chips and announced "Crossroads is back on at quarter past four!!".  I was a bit bemused...what the hell was Crossroads? Back?? What???
Apparently, in the sixties we (in Yorkshire) used to get Granada TV. Cannot remember now if Granada dropped it, or YTV did at first. Anyway - it was "BACK!". On YTV. It began with this woman called Meg looking at the camera and saying hello. Then she told us all about what's been going on, whilst sitting on a chair. (not that one that's on the DVD...that was much later). Then the ATV bubbles inflated and I heard that nine-note motif for the very first time. (Still black & white then...we never got colour until we switched to Tyne-Tees.....which was a few weeks behind!!). So I could watch b&w up-to-date Crossroads, and old colour ones on the same night! (Luxury....VTR's were unheard of then).

That's a brilliant story!   Cheesy  I love the idea of you getting your tea just in time for Crossroads!

I'm sure my mum used to pretend she wasn't really that bothered about Crossroads. It's funny that my earliest TV memories involve Crossroads and Coronation Street, always on while my mum either multi-tasked or just gave in and watched.

My gran had a legendary aversion to any interruption while Crossroads was on. Anyone who knew her gave her a very wide berth at 5.20 (as it was in HTV region). Visitors would be left standing on the doorstep, whilst gran's volume and hearing aid both turned up to the max!

There is another episode that survives not on the DVD, because no one can find the master. But it was again released by CAS in 1989, so some lucky people may have it.
I think that there are two,Mike-Episodes 2814 and 2815.

"Oh my God!  The motel!  It's on fire!  MUM!!!!!" - I was only three-and-a-half.

The same incident - I was about five!

I just remember the impact of the fire - especially Jill screaming and being restrained from dashing into the burning building.
