Can anybody remember a spooky sixties storyline involving a waitress who finds an old locket at the foot of a tree in the motel grounds? She becomes possessed by the spirit of the locket's original owner, a Victorian girl who had been murdered and been buried in the field which later became part of Crossroads. Following a series of scary episodes with the possessed waitress terrifying staff and guests, somebody (probably Meg) notices the locket the girl is wearing, and realises it has caused the possession. The body is then dug up and given a decent Christian burial. Meg announces that the murdered girl's spirit can finally rest in peace and the waitress returns to normal (if normal is a word that can ever describe Crossroads characters). No sign of this on the Crossroads archive DVD, so probably tragically lost for all time.

That sounds a lot like the 'bomb' storyline. I have forgotten the exact details - maybe someone knows more - but it is something along the lines of:

I think one of the waitresses starts seeing a ghost - as do the viewers - and somehow it becomes apparent the the tree near the kitchen has a special meaning to this ghost. It has a heart etched into the trunk with this female ghost and her lovers name.

The ghost is most unhappy that the extension to the motel will see the tree removed and warns that if the tree is chopped down and the ground dug up that something awful will happen to the motel. And of course later it blows up after the bomb is disturbed near where the tree was.

Not sure if its after the bomb but there was reports that Diane and Marylin were spooked by the spirit, with an instance of a table light being thrown at them in one of the chalets.

I think there was also the sub story of the 'dead lovers' I think he had died in the second world war, and so they never were truly together and she had often visited the tree until her death.

I wonder who were the writers for the locket and the above, and also the cult/witchcraft episodes. Be interesting to see if the writers are still around (Some thankfully are) and find out more of that era.

I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.
