Hi, I came across a signed picture and a letter I got from Angus Lennie in 2002,thought I'd tell you about,no scanner at the moment so can't scan picture but here's the letter.(dated24/6/02) " Dear Greg How kind of you to write to me in Edinburgh(Angus was attending a Dr Who meal in Edinburgh)our day went so well,we covered I think every aspect of my work & the "Dr Who" people were very kind,it was a happy day. "CROSSROADS" was a very big part of my life in those far off days and I made life long friends in the cast.I wish the new series well-we have to remember that "SHUGHIE" would be long retired by now,if it was real life! I have just done 2 episodes of "Monarch of the Glen" & will proably do a third, this year my pantomime is at Leamington Spa in "ALLADIN" so I keep on going! Thank you again for writing & trust the enclosed will suffice. Sincerely, Angus(hand written) ANGUS LENNIE"

How very nice of Angus to write to you. I remember he popped up in an episode of Keeping Up Appearances in the 90's.

Isn't it nice when stars take the time and trouble to reply to fan letters. I was a manic autograph collector when I was young, wrote to loads of people, some never bothered to reply, some sent signed photos and a letter which was nice. It really makes your day when you're young to have someone you admire/love/idolise/lust after, reply to you.
In my collection of signed photos Ive got Kenneth More who wrote the answers to my questions (which were mostly about his appearence in A Night To Remember) on the back of his photo. He actually went to school in Jersey and lived in the same street as I live in now! Also got Larry Grayson, Pat Phoenix, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy (who enclosed a nice typed response), Gregory Peck, Michael Caine, Charlton Heston, Kirk Douglas, Micahel Douglas, Burt Lancaster, and the Crossroads cast of course!
I made a complete nuisance of myself writing to Ronnie Allen c/o of the studios, and got replies (typed) from his secretary Janice Barnes and from Ronnie (dictated by him and typed by secretary) which I treasure to this day. Now that wee Shughie has started this thread I will dig them out and try to scan one, or copy them onto this thread.

Freeman's utterly beautiful and rather easy-on-the-eye co-Bargee.
(I cannot accept any responsibility for Daniel's actions, especially when he upsets people)

Both very lucky to get letters from Angus and Ronnie. I wish I'd done something like that.
A friend was in regular correspondance with the actress Kathleen Harrison. Look her up if you want to know who she is but she was 100+ when she died. She was a great letter writer and replied to all her fan mail by hand.

Yes delighted to get the letter from Angus,he's a little powerhouse of talent as you see in the 78 Xmas show and he was in the "Great Escape" too. I also have two signed pictures from Jane Rossington, well actually three as she sent me the same picture twice by mistake, one is from the Orginal Crossorads, other two when I wrote to Jane,to express my disgust that Carlton were killing Jill off.

Jean would you do me the honours of scanning them again,as they don't appear to be up here anymore, and for some reason I seem to have missed this the first time around. I also had some really nice photos of the cast, and a total of 5 pages from Richard Frost (Roy) who at that time was living in Kensington. In those days everyone replied to the fans, these days sadly, they just can't be bothered anymore. In my opinion that is partly what they are paid for, some people just have it all too easy in life,me thinks.
