Hi,
Just wondered if people on the forum had met actors from the orginal Crossroads?
I used to live in Manchester and I met Tony Adams, when he was a guest on ITV2,show "Soap Fever",I got my picture taken with him(dunno where it is,in my flat somewhere)when I said he and Jane were Crossroads got a friendly hug,he was very nice to everyone.
I took part in a show "Pure Soap" on BBC Select (as it was then)and via phone spoke to Jane Rossington, asked her if she was disappointed at the way Jill and Adam were treated in the new Crossroads,no surprise, she said yes.
Jane pointed out,Jill's body was never seen, she seemed to be up for going back but it was axed shortly after.
I wanted to go to the studios to say hi to Jane but they were like,no its ok,phone is best.
I was an extra on "Brookside" a few times,Steven Pinder(Roy from Crossroads)stood up for us one day,I was a policeman with several others with heavy guns, the runner snapped at us,to move and Steven said "Sorry, were you asking those gentleman to come now?"
What a gent!

The only Crossroads actor I ever got to meet was Roger Tonge.  He came over to Jersey for a Variety Club do in the 70's, must have been about 1975-76.  I think I used the photo as an avatar at some stage but I'll post it again.

yes, I met the lovely Lynette Mc a couple of years ago, quite by chance when she walked into the costume dept of my local theatre when I lived in Ilford. We had a lovely chat, she signed her autograph for me, and sent me a signed photo too. She was amazed that I knew that Noele Gordon had died 21 years previously (as it was at that time) as she didn't realise that it had been that long. I even knew the date that she died - all thanks to the Crossroads Network Forum Smiley

I suppose I almost met a Crossroads actor, but the story is a bit dodgy - it involves the actor cottaging - and I don't know whether I should reveal too much on a public forum.

My nan worked in the Wolverhampton British Rail cafe in the early 70's and met Jane Rossington. She said she had no make up on and looked tired (Jane, not my nan... )

I once saw a Crossroads actor on a naturist beach, again you can not say anything on a public forum.

This is all getting a bit naughty!   Grin

I met someone from Crossroads accidentally.  I was interviewing him for my hospital radio station about something completely unrelated.  We got talking about his early days and he admitted he was a staff writer for ATV - and then he admitted he'd been in Crossroads.  The man's name is Alan Smith and he was in it 1964-9.  To quote him:  "If they needed a gypsy character, I was their man!"

I am intrigued.  Fairlawns & Heathbury, I understand about not revealing names, but can you disclose whether they were from the original Crossroads and what era 70's/80's or is that too much ?

I'd have to look the name up on one of the Network DVD releases. I can't think of the character's name, let alone the actor.
