WOW!!!! Maria, thank you so, so much for that background info. I knew Hugh set out to be the charmer, but, my goodness, he was discgraceful! Like you say, it's a great pity that those episodes no longer exist, so having those gaps filled in really helps. I agree, Meg and Hugh were a great couple together, but it's a pity he couldn't keep himself to himself! As you say, though, it makes their marriage a lot more interesting! It would have been nice to have had all his chickens come home to roost - that would have been one heck of a confrontation, and as we have discussed on the board in another thread, John Bentley definitely brought the best out in Nolly, so that would have been a huge scene!
But Aston, I loved Hugh even more, I don't know why, when he eyed up the other women. I remember seeing in the TV Times for Crossroads Listings 1977 "Meg & Hugh have a Showdown". That was over Vicky, the secretary. So if anynone has back issues for 1977, it will be there ! So they definitely did have their barneys, but like all loving couples they made it up at the end, in time for the end credits !!
I must admit although I remember Jill goling to the airport, and seeing Hugh with Anita, I couldn't remember what it was Hugh left behind. I waited for it to appear on DVD, but missing. So, I looked in Jean's diaries, and found out it was the reading glasses.
