I've just read the Crossroads bit from Johnny Briggs' book on Amazon, he's actually pretty fair on Crossroads, and apparently 'knew' Noele Gordon before he went into the show.. He doesn't say how he'd previously known her though.

He seems not to dislike the show, just points out how ATV had no care for it and it was just shoved in rushed through and shoved out. Pretty true really.

I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.

I think you have to log-in to Amazon to read the three pages.

I've met Johnny Briggs,I have to say he's a true gent as are Tony Adams and Steve Pinder.
I spoke to Jane Rossington via the phone for a show on cable, think Jane was glad to get a chance,to speak at how badly the characters of Jill and Adam were treated in Crossroads2.
Was spoiled by that ex Big Brother contestant,Anna saying "Mmm Mmm" to Jane as if to say hurry up,Jane rose above it.
One of the nicest,ex Crossroads stars as I've posted before, was Marilyn Mark1,Sue Nichols, lovely lady, very friendly and approachable.
Surprised at David Jason's attitude to Crossroads, considering his late partner,Myfanny Talog, played Eira(saw her in a bit part in Within These Walls series2)and his brother Arthur White, played John Latchford in Crossroads.
Talking of Diane Keen, she also turned down a part in a Peter Davison Dalek story in 84.

From what people tell me David Jason can be quite arrogant & self centered when it comes to wanting his own way.
Apparently its in his contract that whatever show he is in, if he dosen't like it for whatever reason then it cannot be repeated. That sounds rather unfair on the smaller actors who couid probably well do with the repeat fees, esp considering how many times Frost has been repeated in the past.

There is only one word that comes to mind for him and his shows: Overrated.

I've always thought that Mike....but never dare say it to anyone.
OK, his shows were always popular....but I've never really watched them on a regular basis. I never thought 'Cor - must watch again!'
