Well twas always the same with all those Hammer House thrillers of the 60's/70's when ever the rich old American birds (normally) were about to be bumped orf, they always seemed to be wearing white, for obvious effect,,especially in the B/W era.

Another little thing that got to me was whenever someone was pouring tea, they never filled the cups right up.

How about the 78 episode with Bill Farrow, the Actor in "a car" with the kitchen woman? (who had the ex Actor lodger,Godfrey King)

It was a very bad film projection in the background!

Blue screen is unfortunate, but I've seen it still used on USA Daytime soaps!

As the blue screen moment has already been mentioned, there is also when Jill is sat at the table with her soon to be fiancee/husband the bigamist John Crane.  You can tell immediately the background is false.

I can't think what soap it was, Doug knows vastly more than I about the USA Daytime stuff, but one had them driving in a car from a few years ago that was blue screen like Crossroads. (I've also seen it in The Saint done as well) and a lot of those USA soaps still have fake 'outdoor' sets which are in a studio. So it wasn't unique and for it to still be production standard in american daytime shows Crossroads moved along in the end while America felt there was no need to.

The Saint was years ago too, good enough excuse but to think that the USA haven't moved with the times on this, is funny really.  They are usually at the forefront of technology and things.

I think I've mentioned this before....but in the 70's, when Mr Booth and slutty wife had that chalet 14....it was literally across from Reception - we could all see it. And yet 'inside' the chalet we could see a wonderful open view of the car park!
Also why did those thugs on the night of the fire run down the driveway - when Adam apparently chased them - the WRONG way? Roll Eyes
They headed for the kitchen delivery entrance!! A dead-end!

That may well be The Bold and the Beautiful. A few years ago they had a car crash which looked as though it was totally done in the studio. The poor girl had to lie in a "bush set" for about six episodes as time moves so slowly on B&B and they do like to drag things out!

On the night of that fire... No fire alarms were going orf.  Sam Hurst said "I'm not afraid of fire anymore Benny!" before running towards the motel (did we know anything about this previous fire he was involved in previous to this episode? Or was it a last-minute addition to the script!) Also the actual sight of the motel in the distance....errrm let's face it - it looked like a smaller bonfire than the one they had!!  I know it was far away - but it still looked a bit crap  Roll Eyes

I don't know if its online, but the Best of 1981 ITC 'highlights' Covers Sam's story for a while before the fire. Meg susses him out from a painting he's painted on her cottage wall.

Seems that he could have saved his family from a fire in his house, but was afraid or scared to go back inside. He should have been seen at least breaking in through the patio doors of the sitting room only to meet a fire ball opening the reception door. Even Cell Block H managed that.

Yeah - I agree with that Mike. I remember that painting he did on that wall....and Meg seemed to 'recognise' it for some reason.
He could've at least had a 'fireball' special effect at least to see him orf!!  Wouldn't have cost much surely?
