I've found out that if Diana Dors hadn't tragically died in 1984, at the age of 52 (one year before Noele Gordon of course), that she and Noele were due to act on the stage together in the famous production of "Whatever happened to Baby Jane".

Noele would have played the Joan Crawford role, Diana the Bette Davis part.

The stage production was cancelled in 1984.  Roles were not re-cast.

Mentioned in a Di Dors biography.

I find this particularly interesting because we know from conversations with Patsy Bentley (John's wife) that John was good friends with Diana.

Yes this has been spoken of before but never any confirmation so nice to see the source finally.

It certainly would, I think so  too oorshughie.   Well worth a watch, but not to be sadly.

I vaguely recall Nolly speaking about this on a late night radio 2 interview c.1983. Think that either Pete Murray or Francis Matthews was the interviewer.

Very interesting DJB.  That would have been in the very early stages then, when roles were just cast.

I guess with Michael Summerton being Dors and Gordon's agent it was easy to arrange.
