I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.

Very businesslike and stylish. How she looks on the Soap Box Dvd episode.

Ahh the memories! I remember watching Marked Personal as a school kid. I didn't watch it avidly (I was at school most days!). I remember Heather taking the lead role in the second series when Stephanie Beacham left.

There wasn't a second series - just one long run, in which Chasen was present from the start. Beacham oy left a couple of months or so before it's finish.

It has a very depressing theme tune and grim titles. Tony Holland was trying to get us all to top ourselves even then. Apart from that I thought it wasn't a bad show concidering it only seemed to have 4 sets...

That's odd that Beacham left before the end because in her autobiograph she makes references, ever so briefly, to the series and implies she was in it till the end. She talks about when the show was cancelled and how she and Heather Chasen were glammed up in furr coats pretending everything was normal.

The funniest thing about the "Marked Personal" episode on "Soap Box" is dear old Christoper Biggins trying to be butch!

That's odd....memory might be playing tricks on me. I just remember the 'first' series had Stephanie Beacham in the opening titles with that depressing (as Mike said) theme song...it had a woman singing something like "I'm Just a Woman, but I'm Lonely..." When Heather took on the lead, she took over the opening credits with a more jazzier instrumental version of the theme.

92 episodes, and Beacham's character seems to have left with ep74, (Louise’s advice to Georgina forces her to make the most important decision since she became a Personnel Officer.)
#79, (The arrival of Lynda Carpenter to replace Georgina Layton as a personnel officer gets everyone talking. Is she here to prepare the ground for an invasion by the company’s American “friends,” General Associates? Anxiety quickly spreads from the office block to the factory floor.), sees the arrival of of her replacement.
Episodes 55-92 were repeated in 1976 though, so you might be remembering that as a second run perhaps?

I think you're right ConCon - I just remember it as two series. Maybe regions of ITV did it differently? I was YTV in those days.

It could well be because I remember watching episodes too. I must have been on holiday from school at some point.
But we shall see what ConCon says.

Well, all I remember for a fact is that it jazzed up the theme music when Heather took the lead role. Maybe that's why I thought it was a second series. (I was a sad case in my teens - I used to tape theme tunes onto my reel-to-reel tape recorder!)
