New Year Cards
«
on:

Has anybody else received any of these ?
Personally I don't see the point because within the Christmas cards, there is usually the message "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year". But I have noticed shops selling these cards more and more.
A few years back I received a Christmas Card from somebody I hadn't sent on Christmas Eve, so rather than send a late Christmas Card I sent a New Years Card and wrote in, hope you had a good Christmas.
This year I've received a couple from the neighbours. So of course I've returned the favour and sent cards, just to those who sent me.
Is it just money making from the card companies ?

I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.

Your'e probably right but the two who sent the cards to me, do celebrate Christmas. I suppose they didn't want to feel left out. They mean well.
One thing, when I pulled down all my Christmas cards and stuff, I've kept the New Year cards up. For another week anyway,

I'm taking my cards and decs down tomorrow....as it's twelvth night. (and also because I can't be arsed today!!)
And no - I don't send New Year cards out either. As you say Maria, the message is usually all-in with the Christmas card! It's just a rip-off! Next thing we know - there'll be "Happy Pancake Day" cards or "Happy Bank Holiday" !

I must admit, I've not seen New Year's cards. I get my cards early in December, but I'd not seen any then. After that, though, I wouldn't need to go in to a card shop until mid-January, when the rash of family birthdays starts again.
I certainly wouldn't start sending them, though!
