I thought we had a thread on this already, seems not.

Anyway it was shown on Sky Arts 2 last night. What a hoot.

From 1981 Savalas narrates a tour of Birmingham. You see Wilf Harvey's house in 1981, which didn't look much changed, and also Alpha Tower.

Was suprised to see that the cathedral had cars right up to its walls able to park in its grounds.

Birmingham, here's lookin' at ya baby.

I'm sure it'll be repeated and is worth a view. I know bits of it are online, but not the full film.

I thought we had a thread on Telly narrating Birmingham too.  I've heard him on the radio doing it ages ago.  He is very funny.

Just thought I'd mention that I've found that previous Telly Savalas thread.  It's no longer active on the Forum, is now in the Vaults.

You and I discussed it Mike, Sept 2009.  I mentioned that I'd listened to the radio documentary in 2008.  You posted the link to a Birmingham website where it is discussed.  You also mentioned that Telly narrated on Portsmouth too.

As I don't have Sky, I had a quick look on YouTube to see if it's there and it is!  There's also the film of Portsmouth that Maria mentioned and there's also one of Aberdeen as well.

He probably recorded these around the time he was here recording Tales of the Unexpected in Norwich.

The full film is about 25 minutes long I think, I know the BBC had a five minute version online somewhere.

Ah!  In that case, it's only the five-minute edited version that's on YT.

Was Telly really a Crossroads Motel guest? LOL I dunno I think the poster must be having a laugh

"Me and my brother actually won a competition in 'Look-in' to meet Telly on the set of Crossroads, which he was appearing in as a special guest, anyway,he took me and me brother to a Wimpey in Droitwich, which he was particularly interested in at the time.He stunk of Brut and made us pay for our own bender brunch burgers.Me and me brother had the last laugh though,Telly chucked his ring up in the car park and as he staggered about,my brother nicked his hat....,we've still got it.Marvelous."

I've not really looked at Kojak the same way since I heard Yin and Yans Version of 'him' doing 'If' and the B-side about a fake soap advert was just as amusing. Not sure if thats on Yowchowb.

If on Top of the Pops with the Kojak bit-a-like.
