Did Margaret John's character have her own storyline ever? I can only think of her being a 'reactor' to others plots. Did she have any of her own.

I can't think of one either.  I can only think of her as the Doctor's Receptionist and Kevin Bank's Aunty.

She does have that good scene with the doctor over Ruth Bailey doesn't she. Nice but not her story, I think she had a scene with Jess Conrad.

It was Mrs Bailey/Dr Butterworth storyline that I thought of instantly.  Marion was always there when she turned up at the surgery.

I have a vague memory of her going out on a date in the 1980s, though I can't remember who it was she was seeing. I'm maybe confusing my memories though. Anyone else remember this? Was she also involved in the Becky Foster storyline at some point?

She was normally a reactor as has been said, she was involved in the show when Kevin's dad had an affair, many surgery storylines and as a good friend for Kath Brownlow. She was still appearing on and off up until after Kevin and Glenda emigrated and I think she returned about a year later to attend the wedding of Kath & Stephen Fellowes in 1986.

Thanks for that, thats probably what I was remembering!

Thankfully, all that will still survive in the archives as all of 1979 exists intact. Cyril left the series later in 1979 so all his episodes are there.
