The guy who was responsible for using different instruments to play the well known Xrds theme tune, and for marrying the late Charles Stapley's step-daughter Heather, has just been out on the town celebrating his 69th  Shocked birthday.

He's doing well isn't he! I grew up with the Beatles (you too Hammy - don't deny it!).  I liked his Crossroads theme too!
Didn't think much of Ted Hope's step-daughter Heather though.....where's she got to now? Probably eying up Ringo Starr  Grin

You know the funniest thing is, Heather isn't really his Step-Daughter.  He lived with her Mother for many years but they never married.  I found that out recently.  Definitely a Step-father/Step-daughter relationship but in the eyes of the law, not official.

                                   HENRY WINKLER

One of my favourite stars of the 70's "The Fonz" will be celebrating his 66th birthday today. I watched every episode of Happy Days, and it's spin off,and I haven't found an American comedy to date that can beat it Cry Only Golden Girls gets anywhere near it.
Always thought a few years back that Winkler was quite similar in appearance to Johnny Briggs, anyone else agree?

I always liked the "Happy Days" spinoff "Laverne and Shirley, have season1,must get more.

"Mork and Mindy" was another spinoff and the awful "Joanie Loves Chachi",that didn't last long.

"Happy Days" is ok for me,not got any of the DVDs yet,Henry Winkler was great as The Fonz,he guest starred (Pre "Happy Days") on

"The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Rhoda" as two different characters,in "Rhoda",he plays a sleazy estate agent who tells Rhoda,he'll

get her an apartment if she'll sleep with him,she soon sorts him out.

Agreed "Joanie Loves Chachi" was pretty dire, but loved "Laverne and Shirley".
I don't care for Robin Williams,he doesn't make me laugh in the slightest,so didn't bother with "Mork & Mindy".
Ah TMTMS now that was something else, also starring Cloris Leachman and of course Ed Asner,100% right up my street.
I have a question for you though, can you remember Mary's surname on the show?
I think Tyler-Moore had an alcohol problem for a number of years after this show ended.

Good for Anna Wing!  I read somewhere that she asked to be written out of EastEnders in case she died soon! It turns out that she is the only one left!  Cool

Aww bless Liz! Pity she can't make a re-appearance for Betty's send off next year.....but two cameo appearances as a ghost is pushing it a bit isn't it!
