I had noticed that some Eighties Crossroads was being sold on the Ioffer site.   Well I got some and was pleasantly surprised.  Quality good and the episodes themselves are far better then I remembered.  Anybody interested in this era of Crossroads should take a look.

How far into the 80's do they go?  I wasn't keen on the early ones.

Do you know where they were sourced? Do they have UK Gold logo in corner?

They go from November 1981  to 1985 including the period when the Hunters depart and Major International's Nicola Freeman (Gabrielle Drake) arrives.  The recordings are sourced from UK Gold and pretty good pic and sound wise.

They are going for £152.90 for almost 600 eps. Has anyone managed to negotiate a cheaper price?

I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.

Shhh, don't remind me .... I will never go through that expense for any other series again. Whatever possessed me to buy them for twenty quid a pop.

Freeman's utterly beautiful and rather easy-on-the-eye co-Bargee.

(I cannot accept any responsibility for Daniel's actions, especially when he upsets people)

I'd pay that price if it was from 85-88. I much preferred the 'Crossroads Motel' era when MIH glammed it up a bit. And as I never appreciated the 'Kings Oak' period - I'd like to re-watch and give it a second chance. It would also be like a proper beginning and end to it.
I just never really liked at that 'in-between' stage between Meg leaving and Nicola arriving. And as for that hideous purple game-show set - don't go there!  Cheesy

Less than a quid an episode for a professional product.

Aw, I thought it was lovely - very like a BBC local radio station that opened in my area in 1983 - except their chosen colour was blue. Happy memories for me! Smiley

There should be a game show called 'Don't Go There'.

It seems that there are options as to how buyers wish to purchase Crossroads  1981 -85 from ioffer.   Single discs can be purchased at £9.30 - 12 eps on each disc including shipping.  Pretty good value I'd say and great picture and sound as I can confirm from my own purchase. It's not as if there's any chance of an official release happening now so these are the nxt best thing in my humble opinion!
