Amazon are listing a Network DVD called Soap Box for September. Presumably a compilation in the vein of their Look Back.. sets. Crossroads will almost certainly be included. Question is,will they give us an unreleased episode or two or will it be the obvious selections that we already have?

I hope it's one already released, to be honest, as I'm not keen to buy a fancy box set just for one episode.

My heart did a leap when I read your thread title though ...

Sounds interesting.  As you say, it should include Crossroads, but there'll probably also be Coronation Street, Emmerdale Farm and EW10 in there.  You never know, it might also include Albion Market, The Cedar Tree and General Hospital!

I'd love to see Albion Market, The Cedar Tree and General Hospital again.

There was a great Southern TV soap called Together. It began in 1980, and was set in a housing association block of flats. The next series, in 1981, went out live. I remember it very fondly. It died because Southern TV did.

The Amazon listing now reveal that The Cedar Tree and General Hospital will be on this set. Hopefully, this is a sign that full releases for these may be on the cards.

I always quite liked it, and think it was excellent towards the end, but the axe fell any way!

I remember Together, it was a great show! Had a very catchy theme tune too from what I remember.

I would imagine there is more of a chance of High Road turning up on a Soap Box DVD rather than something like Albion Market, Together or Taff Acre unfortunately. Early episodes of Emmerdale, Corrie and maybe even Brookside will also be most likely I would think. They'll probably stick to the longrunning shows hoping they'll sell more.

Cleo Laine was brought in to perform the theme tune for the 1981 series of Together, this was the one which went out live!

As I've said previously,Amazon have included General Hospital,The Cedar Tree and Parkin's Patch in the blurb alongside Coronation St,Crossroads and Emmerdale Farm.

Why is my little post (above) attributed to "DJB" when quoted by "Lucky" a few posts later?

Thanks for the info DJB - you know how blinkered I am regarding General Hospital!!! If there is to be one complete episode I would be in my element! September is such a long way off...   Smiley
