I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.

Unfortunately Paul Ross has been cut off here for twanging Maria's brastrap or he could probs date it better (his VHS tape originally). Pete Maguire is still alive and hasn't OD'd yet in that episode.

Later in the tape the UTV Endcap is blue and yellow, but the logo they talk over is a metal pole going round on a record player.

^ The US remake no doubt ... Now there's something they never thought about!

Now there's a thought! Could you really imagine an americanised Amy Turtle though?

Well, if they can re-make Shameless ... Wink

Just had a look at the UTV clip...that took me back. I even remember that C4 promo. Wasn't that Larry Wilcox, the doctor's son, on the phone to Pete Maguire at the end of the clip?

I reckon that clip would be from about March 1985 but I'll see if I can work out the specific episode number from my notebooks.

When Nolly went to the US in October 1975(a photo was posted here a couple of years ago)it was apparently to discuss a programme idea. As Crossroads was at it's peak in popularity around this period,I did wonder might this have been an American version of Crossroads?

That would have been a good idea. Pre-Dallas and Dynasty it wouldn't have been a 'Super-soap', but a daytime Peyton Place-type programme. I'd have loved to have seen that. I wonder who would've played Meg?

Noele Gordon if she had her way I bet. But CBS and the likes wouldn't have allowed that.

Yip...my trusty notebook comes up trumps again...the UTV clip on the CAS site mentioned above is from episode 4052 shown on Wednesday 20 March 1985...and yes, I've also been able to answer my own question, that WAS Larry Wilcox, the doctor's son!

I have just been looking at TV Ark again and found two promos for an evenings entertainment that feature short clips of 1980s Crossroads.

Firstly 29 July 1981 (Royal Wedding): http://www.tv-ark.org.uk/mivana/mediaplayer.php?id=0ebdeebb2f04d0acc60f23dc0fb09697&media=itv_wednesday_promo_290781&type=mp4

and then 8 July 1982: http://www.tv-ark.org.uk/mivana/mediaplayer.php?id=bc5f02eb12200dd90c85195219f80fbf&media=ITV_Special_Season_1982&type=mp4

Enjoy!
