The documentary does contain Crossroads being spoken of. I missed the start of the Acorn Antiques bit but later on she does say about Crossroads suddenly having a leisure centre and lake "it was just a motel, then suddenly it has a leisure centre and lake" ...so she put a leisure centre into Acorn Antiques.

Watched it from the start, there is a comment about the wobbly walls and Take The High Road and I've noticed for the first time ever that Hilda Ogden's pigeons off  her wall they have the same on the wall of Acorn Antiques, just sprayed gold.

That's funny about Acorn Antiques having Hilda's birds.

Was this shown recently on BBC1/2 ?

Or even on a DVD.  I know her "Midlife Christmas Crisis" from last year with Nolly's photo is out on DVD.  I was asking because I hadn't seen it in the TV Times, must have slipped my notice.

UK Gold have been showing that too. Duncan Preston said Acorn Antiques was very Crossroads. Says the man who had crabs in Emmerdale LOL.

Thanks, that's why I've not seen it because its on UK Gold.  With not having it I don't look at the listings.

I take it Duncan Preston sees himself as a comic ?  Smiley

I think Duncan Preston didn't enjoy his time at ATV.

I think that might have been enough, the reason he doesn't like it of course is cos he sat on Nolly's sofa, and well... if you're not asked dear...

I may have mentioned this before, but I heard him talk about his Crossroads experience on radio some years ago. He said that he worked with a very difficult,self-important actor who I assume is Paul Henry-who he would have worked with most IIRC.

Nolly's sofa and Benny. Tragic combination.

Perhaps the sofa was jinxed. Sue Lloyd slipped off it after all.
