Its taken me about 7 years to upload this clip - but here it is - the video shown to journalists at the launch of Crossroads 2001. Interesting just how much emphasis is placed on Jill. I suppose she was the "hook" for newspapers etc.

Silly to kill off your main and popular characters..

I know what you mean, but the main characters definitely had plenty of potential.

I enjoyed that clip! Reminded me how good Crossroads II was. I often wonder if it had been given a bit longer.....hmmm who knows?

Well this version could have put mistakes right, thats the thing if its on air and it doesn't get it right, it could change and do so - in fact before Yvon came in Carlton said all this and said it was going to be 'Crossroads'.

Then I guess Granada decided old grudes die hard LOL.

Yes Yvon's original idea for Crossroads was very much to make it more mature and hark back to the old days - more continuity, more original characters and a mix of age ranges.

Then some Granada twit came in and turned into a cheap Blackpool version of Dynasty.

I'd have, if I was carlton, de-networked it if Granada (the ITV Network centre) had wanted those changes and done it the "old way" show it only on the Carlton owned regions with hopefully STV, UTV and CTV 'opting into it' and of course it would still sell to RTE, TVOne ect.
