That clip is definitely on one of the Archive DVD's covering 1976 because I've seen it before. Not much does survive from 1976 but thankfully that episode does.

We can only hope that some missing footage turns up one of these days that we haven't seen.

Its episode 2519,April 76,says on the anniversary set,it was recovered from a Phillips video cassette by Video Ark.
It is a very good episode,Sheila gives Mrs Witton a piece of her mind, then has a great show down with Vera.
I'm sure I read on the Forum that the episode was found after a news company had taped their news show and also Crossroads.
I agree Maria,I'd love more episodes of Crossroads to be found.

Yes we sorted this out, CAS is credited in the sleeve. Which is nice.
We wasn't for the B&W episodes, which was most rude.

Blue Peter had an appeal a few years ago for missing episodes of the orginal Dr Who,sadly the last episode recovered was in 2004,a BBC employee saved a Wiliam Hartnell Dalek episode from the skip
Be great if some Crossroads stuff was recovered.

I have a feeling that any Doctor Who footage will surface. It has such a massive cult following and always gets enormous publicity when anything is found.I suspect that the Whovian community have covered most of the bases re.Lost episodes. With Crossroads there are so many eps and quite a lot from the era of home taping, that I feel there are almost certainly some out there. However, even if they turned up you wonder would we ever get to see them.

I don't know if any of you have read it already but it was announced at the weekend that two episodes of Dr. Who have turned up, one William Hartnell and one Patrick Troughton.
Apparently someone, a private collector, had these in England and was unaware they were episodes no longer held by the BBC. As you are all probably aware Dr. Who is the TV show that has had the most publicity in terms of what is missing, so if some collectors still haven't heard the message, that could be the case for even more people in terms of Crossroads.
Its now 18 months from the last post in this thread. Nothing has been uncovered for Crossroads, surely there are a few episodes out there. The reason they aren't turning up could well be because no one is looking for them.
Its staggering to think that even one of the episodes which was copied for the Fan Club can no longer be found and this is something which Crossroads Fan Club members should have treasured at the time - and since. It really is sad to think that even Crossroads fans have been careless with copies of deleted episodes.
I think its time some of us got a bit more organised and made some noise to get people looking for old episodes, or even clips of old episodes or audio recordings, of Crossroads. I'm happy to take the lead but it would be great to have a few opinions and suggestions on where to go with this. Could ATV help for example?
Lets start 2012 with a bit of a push to find at least one missing episode next year. Well, that's my New Years Resolution anyhow!

The Raiders of the Lost Archive search has turned up an ATV/ITC promo reel featuring, amongst others, Emergency - Ward 10, The Champions and Crossroads.
It seems that the Raiders and Kaleidoscope's Lost Shows appeals are looking at former technical staff, so it's possible that former ATV/Central staff might have some footage either on film or tape.

The Raiders of the Lost Archive search has turned up an ATV/ITC promo reel featuring, amongst others, Emergency - Ward 10, The Champions and Crossroads. Didn't hear about that one, sounds great! I wonder what period it represents? Hopefully there may be a bit of lost 60s/early 70s footage included in there. Technical staff are a good source I would imagine. It makes sense they might want to keep a bit of their own work.

Yes its great the 2 two Dr Who episodes have turned up.
One of them "Galaxy4" was only wiped in 77 not that long before the BBC relaised they were destroying their only copies.
I liked the TARDIS trio of Harnell,Steven and Vicki before Maureen O'Brien was axed then there were several female
companions, then Peter Purves was axed,no wonder Hartnell was not a happy bunny,by then.

It's disappointing that no lost episodes have been discovered since 2008. The sheer volume of missing episodes and the fact that telerecordings were made for overseas sales would suggest that there are likely to be more out there. However,Crossroads isn't a priority, even in Archive telly circles. But,lets hope for some recoveries in 2012.
