I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.

Can't help you with the large sign from above the 2001 door, but I do have the "glass" water feature with the logo on - does that count?

Ive also got the neon "KO" sign from the King's Oak / Knock Out cafe in the shed - don't know if it still works as the transformer is no longer attached.

I don't know why, I never realised it was glass I always thought it was gold for some reason. Very nice though.

Mike, were the 1968-1978 black and blue sign and the 1978-1981 black and blue sign at all identical? Huh

I do remember seeing a blue-framed sign with a white centre and black lettering in the Inside Soap Crossroads feature in 1998, and then again in 2005 on Network's first Crossroads DVD. Smiley

The 2001 Glass Water Feature Sign looks beautiful, Heathbury. Smiley

Yeah the one outside the inside set reception door. They were similar, but had different fonts for the Crossroads Motel sign. The first one being the Thames TV Basic Sans, the latter being a more oddly 1960s used font Swis.

Also noticed the text in the latter is blue, rather than black.

The episodes seem to survive from when they change with no ref, unless it was one of the batch of 1978 ones wiped. But I can't see what would have happened to it in a storyline, unless Meg shoved some roudy drunks head into it Smiley

More likely its been dropped and smashed.

Also my memory is playing tricks, the top Crossroads sign in 1978 is Swis, the Motel bit is Basic Sans. The earlier one seems to be a variation on the Basic sans font for Motel and the Crossroads part is the more like the public transport font which I can't recall its name at the moment.

The other thing is I don't know when this sign arrived. In the black and white 1960s set they had a flashing sign which just said "Motel" outside the door. I'm pretty sure this sign isn't outside the door when the after-bomb set arrives.

The gate into the garden is in a different place, and they enter via a archway (later blocked up with the 'restaurant >' 'cafeteria >' ect signs on it.

Interesting that the one bedroom suite corridor was in reality set into a real corridor...

I did save the images from ebay when the illuminated crown logo was up for sale if you need a copy - but I'm sure you saved them yourself
