Alot has been said in the Press and mentioned on TV about the lack of Daffodils this Spring because of the very bad Winter we have had.

I never really thought about it until I started to look locally where the Daffodils usually are, especially on grass verges and on the main roads where there are roundabouts.  Usually at this time of year they are brimming with crocuses too, but hardly anything as yet !  And we are now into Spring too, the clocks go forward next weekend.

In my own garden this a.m. I noticed one solitary Daffodil, but there are buds waiting to come out and Crocus buds too.

Has anybody else noticed the lack of Daffodils, or have you seen any ?

All the seasons are cock-a-hoop! in the last 7 years I've checked the leaves outside my living room window to see when the first signs of autumn was begining (round my way anyway!) and a few years ago they started turning in July, two years ago it was June and last year it was late May.

At the bottom of my road this a.m. I saw on the grass verge rows and rows of daffodils, all out in time for Easter.  Like magic, sprung up !  They took their time in coming !

It's winter yet daffodils and flowers are in gardens.  I can't make the weather out, it was freezing cold earlier on in the week.

I've even got a red rosebud ready to pop out shortly.

A conversation about the weather....how utterly thrilling.

Do you know - I'm sure my plastic plant has sprouted a flower?
You should not be so dismissive of the beauties of life Roseymare!

Oh hang on - it's a bit of red tinsel from Christmas that fell on it!   Cool

Silly sausage, Daniel.

I had to drop my dear lady mother off at a friend's place on Sunday.  I noticed they had one solitary rose in bloom!  I'm quite glad we've had a warmer winter this year.  The last two were hard-going with all the snow.

My Christmas Cactus, which is supposed to bloom in December has just decided to do so now. I think its a month out of sync with the world.

My garden always looks whonderful these days. Ever since Carney went to Poundland and bought up all the plastic flowers its saved so much pruning and bending.
