Episode 2661:
Jill hands the phone to Stan and, so excited that it's Mr Ellis who's calling, she starts jumping around. She almost trips over Sarah Jane and practically destroys one of SJ's Christmas presents!

Freeman's utterly beautiful and rather easy-on-the-eye co-Bargee.
(I cannot accept any responsibility for Daniel's actions, especially when he upsets people)

There was a blooper shown when the BBC did a tribute(while she was still with us)to Kathy Staff, they discussed "Crossroads" ,Kath is chatting to Doris,a tea spoon flies off the saucer, the two Pros carry on without mentioning it. I also remember Rose(Iris' Mum)in an episode I saw on UK Gold, waiting for her cue with a make up compact(musn't have heard "Action!") and I remember a scene with Mary Lancaster in the William Smethurst era, answering a call at reception without clicking on the right buttons!

I do recall an epsode from, I believe, 1979. If my memory serves me right the late Hugh Mortimer had sowed some wanton oats in the past. Meg recounted to Jill that a character called Deborah Crisp ( I think) was the father of Hugh's child! Jill gasps in amazement, as did I. Although Ms Crisp may have been a little on the butch side! I have not got round to buying any DVDs of the original series, but my old obsession with Crossroads is being rekindled........

That's a cracking blooper, Archie! You should invest in some of the DVDs, if not all! You don't know what you're missing! (PS Good to have you on board! )

Thank you A C, it's good to be on board!
I will be investing in some DVDs. I am being sucked in again, I sort of lost interest in xds during the Bowman era. It all looked a little too slick then, not proper Crossroads!

Welcome Archie !
I actually remember seeing that blooper last year when the DVD came out. That was before I became a member here, and forgot to post it months later.
It is actually a really funny blooper, I went back a couple of times just to double check that I'd heard right.
Well done for remembering it after all those years. You have a fantastic memory.

Isn't it Tish she tells with Adam.
I'm sure Tish's face is utterly bemused by the comment LOL

I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.

Yes, it is Tish with Adam. I have seen Tish's expression and I crack up laughing each time. It is priceless Each time I see it, I expect Joy to correct Nolly, but I suppose she was thinking at the time "Should I or shouldn't I", but too late, moment passed.

Thanks for the additional info. I think that's one DVD I must get.
Another gem I recall was again from the late 1970s and concerned the closing credits on one particular episode. The actors' names were featured in lower case above the character name in capitals, completely arseways to how it should be. I think that one may have provided Victoria Wood with some inspiration.

That's happened on a previous episode, but just with Sally Adcock.

Maybe that was the one I saw... it was Sally Adcock's name that really stood out.

Christmas 1984, Mavis gives Kath her present at the reception doors (Studio Set) and you can see the camera cables 'outside' some are bright red!

Adam returns a year later - summer 83 - his first episode - reception he and J. Henry throw verbal swipes at each other - Valerie get up off the sofa and as she's giving Adam the most ambigious look of all time! out through the window (through the nets!) you can see the far wall of the staff room at the back of the garage office. - with hand dryer on the wall.

Circa spring 84 - Sid/Carole go out jogging - you can see Sid's mic taped to his chest - plus the wires running down to the top of his trousers and the bulge of Carole's mic through her track suit. Even in later years under Bowman and Smethurst there was nearly always chest mics used to pick up sound/dialogue (Outside) and we always got an inferior sound quality because of that.
