I know it's been mentioned before but the one in Episode 3063 is still funny: "She's the father of Hugh's child."

Happy New Year to all, from Freeman's utterly beautiful and rather easy-on-the-eye co-Bargee.

(I cannot accept any responsibility for Daniel's actions, especially when he upsets people)

That would have made a great storyline if it had been followed up. A post watershed Crossroads Xtreme mini series would have given the show a whole new audience.

I love Tish's face, she's clocked it, but she's having that moment of bemusement.

lol Wilf Harvey at the end of a rare scene with him in the sitting room (on one of the dvds) - the scene ends - a pause and he looks straight at the camera - perhaps the pause was enough for him to think they must have cut to the next scene by now! and in 83, at the end of a scene, Sharon Metcalfe is handing keys in at reception and she must have got the feeling they were already away to the next set and her eyes look right at us and oh dear the red light is still on!

Or maybe she's doing a "God I'm sick of this" to the camera... Tongue

I may have mentioned this before but I'm not going back through this thread to find out! but at the end of scenes when someone would exit a room and close the door - if the director had cued and cut to the next set before the doors closure! you could often hear the door bang shut at the begining of the next scene. Smiley I loved that as it gave the programme a live theatrical feel and you were in admiration of not only the actors but the crew as well.

I can remember one scene back in the 70s,where Meg was guffawing with laughter in the sitting room, and the next scene was Veras Barge, but you couid still hear Nolly for at least another 3 seconds.

Episode 2174 - Wilf says goodbye to Amy calling Amy, Mertle and then in the same scene poor old Amy can't remember the word 'penthouse'!! and Vince Parker has to say the word!!

It's covered up quite well for Crossroads. Just watched this the other day, myself. It could be explained away that Wilf was secretly in love with Amy and called it Myrtle by mistake (in a kind of Ross calling Emily 'Rachel' in the London episode of Friends) and perhaps Amy had never really heard of a Penthouse before. But as this is Crossroads probably not.  Grin I like how Wilf pops back to correct himself though.

Wilf says "Where's our Jill?" in another episode. Looking right at Jane Rossington! "Where's Sheila do you mean!" adlibs Jane and looks at him as if thinking, "Oh for fk's sake!"  Cheesy

Poor Amy in her final ep saying Jane instead of Jill when referring/speaking to Jill. I admire actors and the Crossie actors much more so - I couldn't memorise all those pages!

I think the "old" people get away with it more as they're more diddery.

Absolutely. My nan would regularly call me by every family name til she got to the correct one.

Imagine learning new lines on a daily routine, not to mention the re-writes.

When I watched Crossroads though as the episodes happened, I never noticed any mistakes.  Must admit I didn't go looking for them, I was too engrossed in the stories.

It's only with the luxury of the DVD stop/pause/rewind buttons all these years later that we can spot these little mishaps, and they are amusing.  Especially those with Amy.

Likewise,Maria.Either I was too young to notice or because "fluffs" were commonplace in a lot of telly(even drama)in those days.

No fluffs or mistakes as such but the Christmas episodes are so stiff and awkward. Everyone being pleasent, bits of adlibs and false laughter.

When there's drama in Crossroads it's always handled brilliantly well for a soap (yes there were some fluffs, hesitant lines and mis-cues), but everyone acting terribly jolly seems decidely 'empty' to me. It looks as though they aren't relaxed enough.

I can't explain it any better, but does anyone else see what I mean?

Joy Andrews comes out a lot better, because of the sadness around her being alone at Christmas and her insistance that she prefers it that way, until persuaded otherwise. So I think it's the ensemble cast labouring with portraying 'happy' and 'jolly' when they really weren't (obviously, they were working).

I'll shut up now ....  Roll Eyes

This is quite amusing - but only if you're weird....

The garage set grows to accomodate the filing cabinet.

Around the end of the Mrs Baily time  / start of Rennie & Victor the garage has shrunk and the filing cabinet sticks out in front of the washroom door -  Later an extra section of wall is inserted behind the cabinet (often hidden with files) and it then fits with no overlap.
