A heads up for viewers in Wales - tonight there's a half-hour special on BBC1 Wales at 8:30.  It's called Margaret John: National Treasure.  I'm guessing (and hoping) that it'll be available to the rest of the UK on the BBC iPlayer later on.

Freeman's utterly beautiful and rather easy-on-the-eye co-Bargee.

(I cannot accept any responsibility for Daniel's actions, especially when he upsets people)

It sounds like Margaret is quite a celebrity in Wales.  It's really nice to have a programme dedicated to her.

She is the type of woman no one could dislike. This is the first time that I realised she was Welsh. I've been to Wales once and it was even more beautiful than Scotland - if that's possible - (in the sense of the countryside!)

Was re-watching some of her episodes last night - telling Dr Butterworth to steer clear of that maniac woman Mrs Bailey!  It was thanks to her character we were introduced to Kevin Banks was it not?

Yes, she was Kevin Banks Aunty Marian.  Margaret played a very good part I think on the whole, quite a strong character in the Doctors Surgery.

Helen, she left in either late 84 or early 85 - like so many of the 'much loved' characters.

She was at her best in the early 80s and her involvement with Dr Wilcox and Oliver Banks' 'affair' were very good indeed.

Getting past the agents is a problem. Gabrielle Drake is happy to talk about Crossroads, but her agent doesn't pass on any requests.

I found this a few times when i worked for a local paper in Devon,i guess as they don't make any money out of it themselves they think why shouid they bother.Yes its best to approach the person themselves,if you can,i normally found that by contacting theatre's (if they were on)a pretty good bet.

Yes saw her - but couldn't bear to watch anymore of the programme - all BBC drama is written and acted the same way. All so phoney and ACTED! - here we are PERFORMING! and the flat dialogue! Urgh!
