1. Is it possible that some or all of the missing episodes may exist somewhere? I remember reading an article in my local paper back in the late 70s (or very early 80s as it was definitely pre-VCR era) about a woman who had been recording Crossroads onto audio cassettes. There was a photo of her surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of tapes and a story about how she was such a big fan of the show and never missed an episode. So I'm sure that sound recordings for the majority of the missing episodes still exist... It would be great if they could all be converted to MP3s and matched up with the appropriate script PDFs - it's gotta happen someday, surely...? Simon

Wouldn't David Garfield have all the eps he had partly written? someone ask him at this 'big do'. His stuff started mid 75 and finished mid 85.

Simon Yeah I asked at ITV and they found this report, it was a YTV Calendar News report. Its the same lady who is featured in Crossroads Revisited visiting Noele's grave.

BTW.. I don't know if she kept the tapes, I've not been able to find her but would be nice if she had.

Yeah, 1981 sounds about right. I got my first cassette recorder Christmas 1977 - Wings were No.1 at the time with Mull of Kintyre and one of the first radio shows I recorded with it was the Top 20 Countdown on Radio 1. I remember recording some early episodes of Crossroads although I probably taped over them - blank cassettes weren't cheap back then! I was sure the newspaper article I read was in my local paper at the time (which would have been the Croydon Advertiser) although we're talking 30 years ago now so I could be mistaken. I still reckon a lot of those missing episodes are out there somewhere - it's just a case of tracking them down... Simon

I thought that the lady(Sue?)was named here recently,or maybe it was on Roobarb.I also thought that she was featured in the TVTimes when Crossroads was 21.Also,was she not a member of the Fan Club when it first started?

She was definately a member of the fan club and a friend of Nolly/Tony. But rather like ATV, John K has the early documents (or did) so they're not easy to access for an address.

They say Robert Mugabe has a vault of TV shows including perhaps missing episodes of 60s Dr Who.
Wonder if any Crossroads there?

Interesting list to read. So Meg and her Motel were well known in Iran and Iraq too. A surprise in seeing those two countries must admit.

Its noted that America was "Very difficult" to get a networking, so I doubt it was nationwide, in fact it may have been just on one or two 'local stations' over there.
I see however that ATV Network had its fingers in lots of puddings. Part owning a number of TV stations in Australia, launching a couple over there in 1962. So material could be wide spread. They also had station involvement in Canada as well as a string of radio stations.

You can see just why ATV Network Ltd had its fingers everywhere. Very clever forward thinking.
