I've been reading a bit more. They had a licence on the land of Alpha TV until 1975 - and their headquaters in London they had on a lease back in 1958 right up to 2001!
They did think they were there for the journey as TSB would say.

I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.

You could never have forseen that ATV would have lost its franchise. A huge shock to myself and I'm sure many viewers, so I can imagine they would never have seen it coming. They would have thought they were there for the duration.

I was a bit surprised at seeing Czechoslovakia making the ITC countries list, as they'd have been Communist at the time and anything from the West would have been frowned upon.

Freeman's utterly beautiful and rather easy-on-the-eye co-Bargee.
(I cannot accept any responsibility for Daniel's actions, especially when he upsets people)

Yugoslavia was, but Tito was a bit more liberal than some other countries' leaders. Citizens of his country were allowed to come and go and their travel wasn't as closely scrutinised as it was in other Eastern Bloc countries.

Just got Vol. 6-10 today, purchasing backwards as i started collecting late. Only need 1-5 so will get them next time.
Noticed the whole of the Benny & Maureen saga bar the aftermath apparently do not exist as there's only 5 episodes from Dec 1977. What a shame, big storyline too.
Seeing some massive chunks missing pre-78.

I think that the episode featuring Maureen's death(no.2867)does exist, but was located at the BFI too late for inclusion on the DVDs
