Oh typical I went to bed early and missed it !  Never mind, thanks for that DJB. Sounds really funny her going after younger men.

Well, I'll definitely see her this week.

Margaret John(Marion Owen)will be back in her regular role of Doris in "Gavin & Stacey"on Thursday night,at 9pm on BBC1.

I saw her DJB, at last !!!  Smiley

I was quite surprised because her character is altogether different from the mild-mannered Marian Owen !

Daniel, she has changed an awful lot.  I saw her in an episode of Doctors earlier this year, but seeing her as Doris is just so different to what I expected.  But of course the Marian Owen stuff was 30+years ago.

Not quite 30+. Remember Marian appeared quite a bit in the early to mid-80's when she inexplicably and without warning became Kevin Banks's aunt!

Glad that you've seen her,Maria. She's popped up in quite a lot of things over the years. She was a regular in the Nerys Hughes' drama THE DISTRICT NURSE in the '80s,and more recently she was one of the Bingo ladies in the Paul O'Grady sitcom EYES DOWN.

She was appearing as Marian Owen as late as November 1985, for Kath & Stephen's wedding, celebrating 21 Years. I think she was brilliant in Crossroads  Smiley

From the BBC clip she seems nice enough, I'm not sure if she'd have a chat with us. I wonder if she liked the show...

I'll never forget that night at Crossroads, when you said 'all good things must come to an end'. And then you smiled. And I knew that you meant it.

Mike, she can't have minded it that much. She kept popping in and out over a 7 year period.I think that Kathy Staff said that she was one of her closest friends from Crossroads.

Margaret John was in the Patrick Troughton story "Fury From The Deep"(sadly wiped but clips exist of Margaret)she was also in the new Who,"The Idiot's Lantern."
She's also an icy Judge in the first ever episode of "Blakes7" at Blake's fixed trial.

I see that "Synth Brittania"(a documentary on Synth Pop)is being repeated on BBC4 this coming Friday at 9pm.I think that this is the programme where I spotted Gabrielle Drake in Gary Numan's "Cars"video.

Saw Carl Wayne on BBC2 last night. They were repeating a "Wogan"from September 1987 celebrating 20 years of Radio 1-as part of BBC2's"Radio 1" night.Carl opened the show by performing"Flowers in the rain"-the first song ever played on Radio 1 by his group The Move.
