Hi everyone

Just checked in and wanted to say hi.

But I do have a question - what was the name of the group that played the classical music in the honeymoon episodes when Meg returned.

Got volume 4 of the DVD collection for my recent birthday - enjoying some classic moments.

Will be joining in regularly on the debates etc

Regards

Mark

It was released as a single, but I can't recall its name at the moment.

This is really bugging me - I have the episodes on VHS (somewhere??) I remember at the end credits it said something like "Special Venice theme by roderigoue Venuzuellia ...."or something along those lines, and the announcer said at the end something about "Venice In Peril" the album is available in all good record stores. Am I getting close?

HA! found it on You Tube (Crossroads 1983 Meg's final appearance") It was Rondo Veneziano. Well, I wasn't far off!

That was enough information for me to find the artist

Rondò Veneziano

I think there was 2 tracks played in the episode - but I do not have it so cannot check.

Look forward perhaps for some confirmation.

Yes I'd rather have the original.

Its odd its the only record I seem to have missed off the Motel Music page, and I can't remember why, I did have the details of the record somewhere.

I bought their album "Venice in Peril" on CD a number of years ago. It has the same version of the track that was used on the programme.

I'm not sure if it's still available.

I had a £5 voucher for Amazon, so I've just downloaded the track from there.

I'd hardly describe it as classical music darling! It's a modern piece but very charming nonetheless.

Its listed under classical on Amazon oddly, maybe Old Ronnzie is classical usually...

And its proper name is La Serenissima, Rialto B: Canale Grande
